What is my role in the SEA for the Lake Rukwa water plan? - Tanzania
17 June 2019
Mbeya, 10- 14 June- Water resources are under pressure in the Lake Rukwa-Katavi landscape in Tanzania. A draft water plan for the area sets out how the available water should be managed. But does this plan take environmental and social considerations into account? A Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) will be undertaken to check this, and to identify how the plan can be improved. Under the SRJS programme, a workshop was held for key stakeholders. Participants analysed the upcoming SEA, and looked at their role in the process. At the end of the workshop, each stakeholder group prepared an action plan for the next steps.
