8034. WWF SRJS non-partner countries
Upon request of WWF Netherlands the NCEA will contribute to capacity development support in Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) for multiple stakeholders of countries of the Shared Resources, Joint Solutions (SRJS) programme. The programme facilitates dialogues between CSOs, government and private sector parties. To realise this potential, CSOs need to be trained and assisted to play their role in the integrated impact assessment, decision-making and implementation monitoring processes. An MoU with WWF has been signed for the period 2017 - 2020, the duration of the programme.
This project code concerns NCEA's involvement in non-partner countries, which will be shouldered by SRJS. NCEA's involvement in DGIS partner countries will be shouldered by NCEA's core funding from DGIS. Where relevant, coordination will be sought with IUCN-NL, which is WWF-NL's partner in the SRJS programme.
SRJS Regions or SRJS Countries in which activities can be initiated by WWF-NL include:
- Guyana Shield: Guyana and Surinam
- Chaco-Pantanal: Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil
- Zambezi: Zambia and Mozambique (partner country) and
- Indonesia: Aceh (partner country)
