Advisory report on the Resettlement Action Plans /ESIA of the Koukoutamba Hydropower Dam and its connecting infrastructure.
An NCEA working group of experts visited Guinea recently, to assess the quality of the resettlement action plans of the Koukoutamba Hydropower Dam, its access roads and electricity lines. The dam is expected to cause involuntary resettlement of thousands of people and will impact important biodiversity areas, including chimpanzee habitats in and around the Moyen Bafing National Park. The Guinean Ministry of Environment is keen to manage this process carefully and has approached the NCEA to provide assistance through an independent advice.
