Together with the Chinese Appraisal Center for Environmental Engineering (ACEE), the NCEA organised a workshop in China (5-6 December). For two days, participants exchanged their SEA experiences, with a focus on its application to sustainable infrastructure planning.

Workshop in Beijing – China: exchanging SEA experiences

The workshop was part of the ongoing cooperation between the Dutch Ministry for Infrastructure and Environment and the Chinese Ministry for Environmental Protection.

Afterwards, the Dutch Secretary General for Infrastructure & Environment, Ms Lidewijde Ongering, met with the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED). She used the results of the workshop in her presentation.

The aim of the continued cooperation between China and the Netherlands  is to explore SEA application in sustainable infrastructure development. This includes 'green mobility', 'ports and hubs' as well as the 'OBOR-initiative'.
