7248-05. Support to Guinea IA Agency AGEE - Guinea

Early 2022, Guinea created a new agency for environmental assessment, AGEE. The AGEE replaces the former Bureau, BGEE. In the overall MoU that the NCEA signed in April 2022 with the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, a dedicated component is included focusing on strengthening of the AGEE. While the specific type of support still needs to be defined, focus will probably on institutional strengthening as well as independent advice on ESIA for complex projects.

Significant details

In the coming years, the AGEE will also benefit from financial and technical supprt by the World Bank through the Natural Resources, Mining and Environmental Management project that started in July 2022. See also: Projects - Eia.nl
