Significant details
The Ministry of Environment of Burundi requested the NCEA to assist in the process of developing general EIA guidelines for project developers. As part of this support, the NCEA issued this memorandum (only available in French). It contains:
- Links to and copies of examples of EIA guidelines that are in force in other (French-speaking) African countries;
- Comments on the applicability of these example guidelines in the context of Burundi.
The memorandum does not present an exhaustive overview of EIA guidelines, but presents some examples that served as inspiration for the Environmental Ministry of Burundi for developing its EIA guidelines.
