The NCEA has been involved in various stages of Ghana's SEA for its oil and gas sector. Ghana's Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) prepared an SEA screening report, which it handed over to various partners, including the NCEA. A meeting was held between Norway (one of the other partners) and the NCEA to define next steps. The suggested approach is presented in an advice of the secretariat. This advice describes:
- The current situation of the project and ongoing EIAs;
- Objective and preconditions of SEA for this case;
- First steps in the design of the SEA process;
- Tasks and responsibilities in this process.
