349-i. Comments: generic ToR for EIA - Central America

The NCEA provided comments for a generic Terms of Reference (ToR) for an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in Central America. Comments were also provided on the associated diagnosis document and on the ToR for three specific sectors.

Significant details

IUCN Mesoamerica asked the NCEA to comment on three documents related to generic Terms of Reference for EIA in Central America. These are:

• Diagnosis document;
• Proposal for generic ToR;
• Proposal for specific ToR for three sectors: road projects, tourism projects and non-metal mining projects.

The NCEA issued a so called "advice of the secretariat" to fulfil this request. Detailed comments were given on each of the documents.
