SEA Capacity Development Counties - Kenya

The NCEA received a request from the Frontier Counties Development Council (FCDC) to provide support on SEA for county planning. Most frontier counties have no experience with SEA. FCDC together with the Ministry of Planning is preparing SEA guidance aiming to support the application of SEA for the County Integrated Development Plans and the County Land Use Plans. 

Significant details

To prepare this guidance for FCDC counties governments use,  the experiences gained with SEA supporting Land Use Planning for the Tana and Yala Deltas. The Draft SEA guideline will be tested/applied in one or two pilot counties. The counties still have to be selected competitively. Upon testing the draft SEA guidance will be finalised.
