SEA workshop for NGOs in Indonesia
15 March 2017
SEA can be a great entry point for NGOs to engage with government planning. In March, the NCEA facilitated an NGO workshop on SEA in Jakarta. Lessons learnt from SEA applications in Indonesia were shared, and then applied to make plans for NGO involvement in upcoming SEAs. These lessons concerned among others the importance of investing in early stages of planning so that all key parties are involved, and the division of roles between NGOs and government is clear. The workshop was part of the IUCN/WWF strategic partnership programme “Shared Resources, Joint Solutions”.
