Review of the SESA for major Bangladesh River Stabilisation Plan

The NCEA recently reviewed the 5th version for the strategic environmental and social assessment (SESA) for the Bangladesh River stabilisation plan (2015-2040). Although the content of the SESA has improved considerably since its first release in 2017, the process did not go according to best practice unfortunately. The integration of the outcomes into the first phase of the plan could therefore not be accomplished. However, the Bangladesh Water Board is now very committed to use the SESA to support all future updates of the plan during its implementation until 2040.
