Review ESIA hospital - Burkina Faso

The government of Burkina Faso intents to build a new hospital in the east of the country. Invest International is funding a series of necessary studies that will aid in the development of the hospital. They approached the NCEA to review the ESIA and the Livelihood Restoration Plan. Our review indicates the studies are - in general - of good quality. However, for the purpose of good decision making, more clarity should be provided on the safety situation, gender-specific impacts, resource consumption and how waste will be disposed of.

The advisory report is expected shortly and will be published on the NCEA's website. When all studies are finalised, Invest International will decide on possible financing of the new hospital.
