Review ESIA drinking water and sanitation project, Kisii - Kenya

The NCEA reviewed the 2nd version of the ESIA for the Kisii water supply and sanitation project. The project - to provide clean drinking water for ca. 500.000 people - consists of the construction of a dam, water reservoir and treatment plant. The NCEA noted that the 2nd version of the ESIA has been improved considerably. However, for all the shortcomings mentioned in our review of the 1st ESIA report (dd. 18 Sept. 2018), there is still essential information missing to support sound decision-making. In our advice we present our findings and make recommendations for further improvement.
