Presentation pilot Mining ESIA Tool - IGF annual meeting - Geneva

At the IGF’s Annual General Meeting, it was our pleasure to present the pilot of the Mining ESIA Tool (MET) in Burkina Faso. This tool - developed by the NCEA and IGF - identifies strengths and weaknesses of a countries' ESIA process for the mining sector. One pressing issue identified in the pilot, concerns the limited application of social impacts of mining. Therefore, the NCEA will organise a workshop on this topic by the end of November in Burkina Faso.
