New diagnostic tool for ESIA mining sector - Ethiopia

The NCEA recently participated in a workshop -facilitated by IGF and CIRDI- to pilot a new tool to support government officials in Ethiopia to identify gaps in the legal framework for ESIAs for mining projects. This diagnostic tool is based on the ESY mapping tool designed by NCEA and SAIEA. In a follow-up session, the findings of the gap analysis were shared with a broader audience and possible actions discussed. For example more in depth support for ESIA and SEA.
