NCEA attend National conference on Tana Delta

At the end of February the NCEA attended the National Scientific Conference on the Tana River County in Nairobi, where the SEA for the Tana Delta Land use plan was presented. The NCEA advised on the ToR for this SEA in 2012. The SEA was well received; local ownership for the SEA process seems to be strong. The NCEA is in view to review the final SEA.

Furthermore, the NCEA also took part in a workshop on SEA with the National Environmental Management Agency (NEMA). This workshop with NEMA was initiated by Sida, and included an analysis of the SEA system of Kenya. Possibilities for future co-operation on SEA between NEMA and the NCEA were identified.
