MoU with forest commission in Central Africa

1 February 2022

The month of February started well with the signature of an MoU between the NCEA and COMIFAC, the Commission of Central African Forests. The COMIFAC, which now represents 11 Forestry Ministers in Central Africa, has adopted a regional directive for Environmental Impact Assessment. Together with the Secretariat for Environmental Assessment in Central Africa (SEACA ), the NCEA will provide technical support for the transposition of this directive in the national systems of the member states. Also, we will explore further EA system strengthening opportunities in the region, such as the promotion of SEA for planning decisions.
