Mapping exercise in Guinea-Bissau to boost impact assessment skills

A lot of potential and energy! That is our main takeaway from the ESYMAP workshop, held from 15 – 17 May 2023 in Guinée-Bissau. The workshop was conducted at the request of the new Head of the Competent Authority for Environmental Evaluation (AAAC). AAAC wants to make sure that its young staff understands the strengths and weaknesses of their environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) system.
The workshop highlighted various elements of the ESIA system and various recommendations were harvested. Even before the workshop was finished, the first meetings to follow-up these recommendations were planned. We are looking forward to hear more from this ambitious team!
