Activities in Ethiopia started in 2008, when we established an Memorandum of Understanding with the Federal Environmental Protection Agency. This was followed by a similar MoU (2018 – 2020) with the Amhara State Environmental Bureau, which focused on scoping and review capacity for ESIA. Activities in 2024 included advice on the ESIA curriculum and SEA trainings for the Hawassa university and SEA training for the Water and Land Resource Centre, with a focus on river basin development.
