In the 2010s, the Netherlands and Indonesia co-operated on the development of a masterplan for the Jakarta Bay area - the so-called National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD) project. In 2020, as this co-operation was winding down, a 3-day e-learning event was organised for Indonesian counterparts that will continue the NCICD work. The NCEA contributed to the development this event.

Significant details

The e-learning event was organised by Sweco and the Indonesian Ministry of Public Works (PU-PR). About 60-80 participants joined online. The main goal of the 3-day session was to create understanding of the environmental assessment in Indonesia and internationally and the way forward for NCICD.  The NCEA contributed to the development of the e-learning programme, and provided presentations on SEA practice, on the relationship between SEA and ESIA and on how the IFC Performance Standards apply to ESIA.
