In 2015, the NCEA's Dutch Sustainability Unit (DSU) was requested to participate in a workshop related to climate change, and to contribute from its expertise on climate change and on the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) policy process.
Significant details
The workshop covered goals of climate policy, climate negotiations, and climate smart development. It was a dialogue between approaches in bilateral programmes in Africa (and some in Near East and Asia). In the invitation for the workshop, the DSU was mentioned as ‘regular strategic partner for such issues’, and therefore as ‘best fit’ for making contributions to the workshop. This workshop was similar to one in Nairobi in 2014, and one in Kigali in 2016.
