2013 and beyond.

Dear Sir, Madam,

It is with great pleasure that I present the first interactive annual report of the Netherlands Commission for Environmental Assessment (NCEA).

In this online report you can view and read about the NCEA's activities in 2013. It includes project descriptions, illustrations and short films on our work both in the Netherlands and abroad. It covers themes such as research into the effects of fracking, the new Environment and Planning Act in the Netherlands, how the NCEA expertise adds value to investments abroad and the work of the Dutch Sustainability Unit.

As the new chairman of the NCEA, I look forward to working with you and I would like to ensure that decision making will be based upon sound information. With enthusiasm, we shall continue to make our contribution to that process.
