Review scoping ESIA for Gelephu river rehabilitation - Bhutan

10 February 2020

Bhutan - Uncontrolled sediment mining may have a considerable impact on the effectiveness of the proposed interventions of the Gelephu River Rehabilitation Project. This is one of the outcomes of the NCEA's site visit to Bhutan in order to review the draft ESIA scoping report. It should therefore be addressed in the ESIA study, to provide sufficient information for the competent authority to take a decision regarding this project.

Our advice was requested by the Dutch RVO agency, which manages the Develop2Build (D2B) facility. D2B - and other facilities - provide funds for Dutch investments in developing countries.
